This is a shot from above the dig site (lower right) showing the remains of the 10th century fortress rampart wall (in front) and the showing the 9th century gate complex (upper right), including the closest wall which was damaged by an earthquake and was fortified with earth. The white building at the top has been on the tel for about 100 years and has served many purposes.
