Tamar Pottery 25

This is one of the most important pieces of pottery we found at the tel, a handle piece from a 10th century BCE pot. There is a great chance that it will be used to solidify the date of the 10th century section of the tel. (NOTE: in my original posting of this page I erroneously identified this potsherd as Cypro-Phoenician, but Craig Bowman, one of our tour leaders, recently corrected my mistake. The Cypro-Phoenician piece is shown two images ahead [pottery27])
