In February 2006 I took a business trip to Forsand, Norway, to help a company called Duplo Data change their Bibles from the old WORDsearch 5 format into CROSS. While I did not get a lot of time to sightsee, I did walk around the town a bit and around one of the nearby mountains.
The Municipality of Forsand is a community of about 1,000 people. It is situated on the meeting point of the Lysefjord and the Høgsfjord, just about one hour from Stavanger. The Lysefjord is well known for Pulpit Rock, a distinctive rock outcropping that brings in thousands of tourists each year, and for the Kjerag mountains, which rise 1,000 meters above the Lysefjord, allowing base jumpers and hang gliders to practice their sports. There is also the Kjeragbolten, a huge boulder wedged into a crevasse at the top of the cliffs.
