Rabbi Brody also posted a great discussion on praying for the Messianic redemption in the Amidah. He shows that at least 10 of the 19 prayers in the Amidah are asking G-d in some way for redemption (the Geulah). As he notes in his post, the Talmud says that one of the questions the hevenly court will ask on our arrival there will be "Did you wait in hope for the Messianic salvation?".
